I’ve been devoting some time lately to art journaling and am finding it so liberating. It’s a place where anything goes – so much so that the blank page can seem overwhelming at times (as in, so many choices I don’t know where to begin). But, I’ve been on a spurt and here are some of the results…

including these from my Wrecked Journal…

I’m as guilty as the next person of doubting my ability to make art; of defining art based on other people’s work. I’ve recently thrown my hat into Creative Every Day and, although I may not be completing something every day, I am making a concerted effort to get paint, glue, glitter, or ink on my hands and/or words on a page at least once every day. I’m learning so much and, more than that, I’m finding an almost meditative state in the process. It’s a place where my mind lets go and my heart takes over – worries, criticism, and doubt all fall aside and I am able to just be… in the moment… making art.
Namaste,
Kelley
