100 Days of Sacred Art (57) and AEDM (Day 6)
(Nano Mascot – painted with Twinkling H2Os)

Yesterday evening, I took my laptop and went to Starbucks to work on my novel and sip my daily latte. There was a storm rolling in and the clouds were dark and threatening, but I felt very cozy inside my favorite shop, typing away with my latte close at hand.
Every now and then I would look out the window beside me to see what the storm was doing. I didn’t want to get my laptop wet, so was sort of checking to see if it looked like I should leave. Suddenly, I looked up and saw the distinct figure of a giant bird in the clouds. I’ve been noticing clouds alot lately and have been sort of dismayed that I can’t seem to make out shapes very often – like I did as a child. But this was just so perfect and such an immediate recognition! By the time I could find a pencil and paper in my bag, it had dissipated, but she stuck in my head and, this afternoon, I sat down and drew her out…
For now, I’m just calling her Rollergirl (I was working on a passage in my book about roller skating when I saw her, so the skates just seemed to work), but I’d like to come up with a better name. Maybe she’ll be my Nanowrimo mascot! If you have any ideas, please comment!
Blessings,
Kelley

Oh, she’s adorable! I like Rollergirl…conjures ideas of the ease of movement in any direction, the energy of youth, and cute-ness (which we all need
. I remember a space in time when I kept seeing smiley faces in the clouds.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Those kittens are so cute, I can hardly contain myself!

That is one of the mose unique cloud shape visions I’ve ever seen! Maybe we should all look *up* more often for our inspiration!!

I’m excited for you to be doing NaNo. One of my friends is doing it too and through him it’s the first I’ve ever even heard of it. I almost did it (I even signed up on their website!) but when it came time – I felt like it would be a project that would totally overwhelm me, even though I love writing. It felt like such an unappealing task to come home after 10 hours of sitting at the computer at work, to sit and type at night instead of spending time with my fiance or crafting or.. But I reeeally do want to do it eventually! I’m excited for you to make it to the end
The deities seem to be saying that you should have fun.
