(Fall Photos and Button Baby – Part 2)

There is something about this time right before Thanksgiving that always seems magical to me. The days are somehow softer, a little less frenetic, and there seems to be time and space to gather my thoughts. Maybe it’s the promise of free time ahead – I have to work tomorrow (Monday), but then I’m off for the week. Maybe it’s the notion that family will soon be here to spend the day, share a meal. Maybe it’s the quality of the light as it filters softly through the leaves…
Maybe it’s just the calm before the Christmas storm. In any event, I took advantage of my ordered thoughts and spent the morning working on a brochure for my Yoga Teacher – I’m doing some part-time marketing work for her in exchange for yoga classes. I satisfied my chai latte addiction and started reading The Anti 9 to 5 Guide, which lead to some creative dreaming and making of to-do lists. Finished off with a little attention to my Dolly Gone Bad, though Megan over at Running Stitch has set my mind at ease as to Dolly’s fugitive status (thanks Megan!)…
I’m searching my soul these days to understand my next best steps, working to be clear on what I want and need, and trying to find the capacity to trust in the universe to provide.
Blessings,
Kelley

oh what great material – especially the head! I love dolls. I made a few Spirit Wymyn with clay faces, but found they can be addictive and they don’t sell (well, one did. To a guy! Who came back a year later and got a mask! I’m always surprised by men being attracted to my work). So I quit before I had a roomful of them but may go back and play someday soon. I had an idea of somehow attaching them to a canvas painting but that never panned out. Love the photo – if you took it and that’s a space near you, well, lucky you!
The fall picture was one I took at the nature center about three miles from my home. It’s one of my favorite places in the world!
