I’m still plugging away at my Earth Day promises – made a veggie meal on Sunday, cooked at home every night this week (well, almost), I’m turning out lights when I leave a room (pretty much), and I put the recycle bin on the curb Monday morning (hooray!!).
I also purchased this Starbucks mug and have [...]

Veggie Night!

One of my earth day promises was to go veggie at least once a week. Let me tell you, Hubby was not tickled about that one!  But, I may have won him over with my Veggie Chili last night.

Let me know what you think…
Vegetarian Chili
Serves 4
1 large onion (sliced thinly)
1 bell pepper (sliced thinly)

I’ve been working on a retreat for my sister’s church group and made another scout trip down to Wichita Wildlife Refuge this weekend.  It was WARM and spring was springing up positively everywhere I looked!  On days like this, sacred just seems to jump up and kiss me on the nose!  I wish it could [...]

Earth Day

Earth Day is around the corner (April 22) and I ran across this fun little site that helps you estimate your ecological footprint.  On my first pass, it said it would take 6 planets to support me and the quiz didn’t even ask about Starbucks (I shudder to think)!!

Pickup Love

There is a special place in my heart for a good pickup – maybe it’s having lived in Oklahoma most of my life where there are probably more pickups, per capita, than anyplace else on earth; maybe it’s having grown up riding around in the bed of my grandpa’s pickup; or maybe it’s the love [...]

Wanderlust

My mom remarried just as I was entering my teens.  I didn’t altogether trust this man who was so much older than her and so unlike anyone I’d ever known and it wasn’t long before my shaky trust was shattered permanently.  The first time he left us, my mother cried for days, believing he’d been [...]
